Here's a shot that I took while we were in New Orleans last year. This guy was performing in front of the steps across from Jackson Square. It's always a great time being down in the Big Easy. Maybe it's because we only go there on vacation but it sure seems like a nice place to be. We would really like to see some more of the state but seem to spend most of our time in the French Quarter. If you have any recommendations on things to do or see in Louisiana I would welcome the comments.

This was taken with a Nikon N80, 28-105, Ilford XP2.
Hopefully things are looking better while viewing goPhoto.net for everyone. It should be a nice day here in Avon, Indiana. You can take a look at our forcast by clicking over to Weather Underground.
Here's a little wild strawberry that I found in the back yard while looking for some colorful subject matter for this roll of Velvia. It's such a fun film to shoot. At $10 a roll it can be rather painful as well when the results aren't what you were hoping to get. Not one of the best photo's I've taken but it's sure beats nothing when it comes to looking at a web site that suppose to be part photoblog.

I updated the style sheet for the site today. Hopefully those people viewing the site using Internet Explorer will have a better visual experience now. Those users shouldn't have to scroll to the right to view all of the text. That is if they are using a resolution of 1024x768 or larger. Post some comments if you see any thing that looks incorrect in the layout of the page. Thanks!
Wow. It's Friday again already. Time for The Friday 5. Let's play along and see where it takes us.
1. What was the last TV show you watched? Fox and Friends News
2. What was the last thing you complained about and what was the problem? Work.
3. Who was the last person you complimented and what did you say? Erin. I told her that I thought she was a pretty woman.
4. What was the last thing you threw away? A gum wrapper.
5. What was the last website (besides this one) that you visited?
vechee.blogspot.com I found this website while looking at the user comments here on goPhoto.net.
Spring is here according to the calendar. The temperature seems to be bouncing up and down. The few nice days we've had have been enough to wake up the grass though. So now it's time to cut the grass. It's time to buy a mower. This is a fine specimen made by Toro. I imagine it'll get the job done.
In my quest for content I came across The Friday 5. Let's play along and see where it takes us.
1. Who is your favorite celebrity? I don't think I have a particular favorite but there are a few I enjoy. I tend to think of Actors when trying to answer this question. To list a few Christopher Walkin, Robert De Niro, John Turturro, Morgan Freeman, John Travolta, Sammual L. Jackson, Steve Buscemi.
2. Who is your least favorite? Hard to point the finger at just one!
3. Have you ever met or seen any celebrities in real life? I saw Jeff Goldblum at a resturant once.
4. Would you want to be famous? Why or why not? Sure, I wouldn't mind being famous. I doubt it would suck.
5. If you had to trade places with a celebrity for a day, who would you choose and why? I don't think I'd want to trade places for a day. I like being me. It's a rough job but I think I'm the only one qualified.
Here's a crop out of a larger photo that I took the other day. The original image wasn't much to look at but when doing images for the web it's easy to crop away. You could never do this with prints. There would be too much grain for a picture of any size.

Hump day in paradise. Here's a little bit of digital moon light for everyone. It's not much but I like the pretty blue color. Stay tuned...

Here's a picture that I shot last night while sitting at a stop light. It's a nice spring picture showing that things are turning green.

The desire for a new digital camera continues to grow. I can't decide which camera would suit my needs. I would like a digital SLR but I don't think I could bring myself to spend that much money on a digital camera. I know it would replace my N80. It would eliminate my need to go to a mini-lab. It would remove the frustrations at the mini-lab. Oh the joy it would bring. But, I digress. I need to do some research to find me a digital that costs less than the digital SLR's. I'm looking at Nikons, Canons, and Olympus. Looks like I'll be spending some time over at DPreview.com. I need to compile a list of requirements and then list some likes/dislikes for some cameras I suppose. Here are a few that I'm looking at:

I'm liking MovableType a lot. The more I use it the more I like it. I'm doing a lot of reading on all things blog it seems. HTML, RSS, CSS, and the list goes on. So much to digest. I've also been looking at a lot of page designs. There are a lot of great blogs out there. It's like macro photography. The Internet is a huge place full of noise and as you get closer to a subject you find a world that you didn't know existed.

I would still like to get a digital camera of my own. The one I used in Chicago was a loaner. I am tired of trying to get film developed and scanned. The only lab here in town worth using is Roberts Imaging and they're up on the far north side of Indy. Not too convenient for me. I've been tossing around the idea of selling my Nikon N80 and Minoltas to try and get some cash to buy a digital. I wouldn't mind having a Nikon D100. Or maybe even a Leica Digilux.
