Do you read much? We read quite a bit and we have made it a priority for our children to read a lot as well. Their schools have reading programs that get the kids to read and as a reward at the end of the year they are given a gold medal if they achieve the goal set for their grade level. Family members are encouraged to participate as well and are required to read a total of 2500 pages to earn a gold medal.
As you can see in this picture, there's a stack of books that haven't made their way to the book shelves. A lot of those books are by Michael Connely. My wife has be come a big fan of his work and has read nearly all of his books. She eats through the books at an incredible rate. I've had to resort to shopping on ebay to be able to keep here supplied with the hardbacks she so loves to read.
We took a trip to the pumpkin patch this weekend. It was actually an apple orchard that also has a small pumpkin patch. It was nice because unlike the other places here in town these people don't have a cover charge. Talk about a way to fleece the family fun. In years past we have tried several of the other farms around town only to feel very ripped off after the experience. Not this time. We each got a very nice pumpkin all for a measly $18 bucks. So, we're ready for the great pumpkin to make its way to our street. We'll be decorated and waiting for the big arrival.
