This was take a couple years ago. I was looking for something to work with in photoshop and for something new to put on my site. Enjoy.

Monster Jam

I'm sure that everyone has heard the commercials on the radio of the guy screaming, "We'll sell you the whole seat but you'll only need the edge!" Well, that's where I took the family last night. I bought tickets sometime last November for Monster Jam. I thought that I would get us good seats by purchasing early. Well, it turns out that the RCA Dome doesn't have a good seat, at least not in terms of comfort anyway. From the standpoint of viewing the show, there's not a bad seat in the place.

The show was sold out and the traffic was horrible downtown Indianapolis. Maybe it's just me and I don't have the practice to deal with the inner city congestion but it seems to me that there should be enough parking for the events that we host down town. There sure didn't seem to be enough parking last night. We ended up parking at the Eiteljorg Museum a few blocks away from the dome. Had it not been bitter cold it probably wouldn't have been so bad.

As we were walking from our car to the show the crowd grew thicker and it became clear that not only was it the Monster Jam but it was going to be the first White Trash Expo of 2007. There wasn't lot of diversity in the stands for this event. There were a lot of kids though and we were surrounded by kids.

To say that my wife as very accute senses would be describing her in a polite way. She had a young boy sitting next to her squirming the whole night. He was on all of her nerves, not just her last one. She made the best of it though. I hope he has a life time of memories of sitting next to her. He didn't seem to know what to think of us.

Overall it was a fun evening. We got to see some big trucks smash some cars, and jump some dirt ramps. We even got to see some of these drivers break their own trucks while showing off for the crowd. It's something to see and if you look at the little ones as they're watching the show you can see that they do only need the edge of their seat. That's because the edge of the seat is the only part that an person's ass will fit when it comes to seating in the RCA Dome.
